We are pleased to announce that the City of Memphis will now be offering a select package of benefits to part-time employees. This is a continuation of our strategy to ensure we are attracting and retaining top talent for the City of Memphis.
Starting this month, part-time employees who are scheduled for 20 or more hours per week and have been employed by the City for at least a year will be eligible to enroll for benefits such as group accident coverage, cancer assistance, critical illness insurance, term life insurance and individual disability insurance.
Effective immediately, all part-time employees will qualify for City of Memphis employee perks, including free MATA rides and library access – all it takes is showing a current employee badge.
Starting November 1, 2017, part-time employees who are normally scheduled 20 or more hours per week, and who have been employed by the City a year will be to access our city’s wellness clinic on Union and will also be eligible for a $10,000 death benefit.
Eligible employees will have access to sign up for voluntary benefits, namely, group accident, cancer assist, critical illness, term life, and individual short-term disability. Open enrollment for voluntary benefits will be October 23 – 27 and these benefits will start January 1, 2018.Please know that we will not stop here.
